The Museum Island by Christians Brygge (Danish War Museum, The Court Theatre, Thorvaldens
At Christians Brygge, not far from downtown Copenhagen and Nyhavn, one finds a unique island with a myriad of historic buildings and museums. Visit among other Danish War Museum, the Theatre Museum or the Thorvaldsen Museum, or stroll along the canal and enjoy the new and old architectural gems.
Chr. IV's Brewery
Christian IV’s Brewery is one of Copenhagen's oldest buildings. The big house is uniquely located in the historic environment around Frederiksholms Canal and near the Copenhagen Harbor. In the future it is planned that the house will be opened to the public and decorated with displays of stone and plaster figures from the government palaces and be the place for various purposes and events.
At Slotsholmen you find the Royal Library's newest building, The Black Diamond, which was built in 1999. The building is a cultural center, containing lectures, debates, concert and theater events - and there is also an international scene for poetry. The whole building and its surroundings are decorated with new and old art, and the cultural center holds many different types of art exhibits and events.
